On a recent trip to Connemara I was headed towards the seaside town Spiddal driving down a narrow country road. There were vast bogs on both sides and as I came over a hill there were two Connemara ponies standing high on a rock. They looked so majestic in the soft breeze, with the faint view of the Burren in the distance. It was such a sight, one that you could have easily missed if I wasn’t already admiring the beautiful landscape.
All I could get was a blurry photo, but I knew I had to paint it. To capture that scene.
