The Mourne Mountains are such a special place for us. We live right on the doorstep of this beautiful mountain range and have hiked here often. It’s a place of sanctuary and peace for me. I wanted to convey that in this painting. From the top of Doan you look out towards Silent Valley and the sea. Inspired by Paul Henry, I wanted to create this golden yellow that illuminates the painting and creates this glow. Set off by the greens and purples of the heathered mountains. This would look beautiful in a hallway or as a statement piece in your home.
