In 2017 my husband James and I were on a sailing trip in Greece visiting some of the islands off Athens. We stopped in beautiful Poros and loved exploring the cobblestone streets and swimming in the sea. One afternoon when we were headed back to the sailboat we came across a fisherman untangling nets in his boat, with two hungry cats patiently waiting nearby for their lunch. This image made me smile so much and has stuck with me ever since. I’ve had so much fun finally painting it and I’ve painted it in a impressionistic style with a play on light and shadow. Up close there’s sweeping brush strokes and bursts of color and from a distance it’s a playful scene of two harbor cats waiting for their lunch.
A complete statement piece that would add color and make an impact to any room. Perfect for a kitchen or dining room.
