An Island of Pines

Nestled in the middle of Connemara along the Wild Atlantic Way, is Pine Island. A tiny island covered in pine trees in the middle of a lake surrounded by dramatic mountains. It is a breathtaking spot to visit with so much to admire. The shapes of the trees themselves, the drama of the surrounding mountains and the way they change colors with each passing cloud, the way the light affects the color and brightness of the water... Following a path over to the island, you can explore amongst the trees and flora. With the dense ferns, bracken and trees, it feels like you’re exploring a sacred fairy site. It’s truly a magical place to escape to.
