Ebb & Flow
Life moves through seasons. It’s what I love about nature, it’s a visual representation of that. When we slow down, stop and look we can be present in the season we are in.
I painted this collection of native plants and flowers that grow in the Irish hedgerow and bog in Spring, Summer & Autumn. What could easily be missed if we aren’t paying attention. When I paint in nature I feel grounded and present. I’m reminded of life’s ebbs and flows.
Life meanders like a path through the woods. We have seasons when we flourish and seasons when the leaves fall from us, revealing our bare bones. Given time, they grow again. -Katherine May
What’s better than roses? Wild roses! I love seeing them throughout the summer in the hedgerows and dunes. They vary from creamy white to deep pink and are so beautifully fragrant. This sweet watercolor painting is of some lovely roses spotted up on the Causeway Coast. If you look closely you’ll notice the stem changes from green to deep red and there’s actually so much color in these flowers. They are such a delight to see and paint! This painting would pair well with Wild Roses I.
This original painting is 7.5 x 10.5 inches on watercolor paper. It does not come framed or matted.
